I, Fly: A New Herd

I grazed on what was left of the summer grass. The snow was gently falling around us. Then I heard a shout.

 

"WONDER!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING BY THAT RIVER!!!!!!!!!" yelled Stormy.

 

"What?!" cried Wonder. Then Wonder jumped into the cold water. Life Flower lifted her head to see what had happened.

 

"MOM!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!" screeched Wonder.

 

"I'm going to just let you learn the hard way." said Stormy.

 

"But I'm freezing! And the wind is too strong for me to swim!" protested Wonder. Life trotted towards the stream.

 

"I'll get her." said Life.

 

"DON'T!!!! SHE CAN SWIM JUST FINE! THE WIND ISN'T EVEN BLOWING!!!!!" boomed Stormy.

 

Life backed away from the stream. I noticed out of the corner of my eye, a rose roan filly was looking over the bushes. I walked up to the filly.

 

"Hello. What's your name? I'm Fly. And this is my herd. The lead mare is gone right now but she will be back soon." I told the young filly. I looked around trying to spot Silver, my lead mare.

 

"My mother was killed and my father kicked  me out of the herd." whispered the Rose Roan filly.

 

"What is your name?" I asked. The Rose Roan filly just walked away. I walked up to Life.

 

"Will you take the Rose Roan filly as your adopted foal?"

 

I asked Life. "Yes" replied Life. Life walked up to the Rose Roan filly. Suddenly I heard a whinny. I turned around and saw Silver galloping towards me. I whinnied back to her. Then the whole herd whinnied to Silver.

 

"Sorry guys. I was sent on a mission for Fly to see how dangerous the mountains are. I found a few cougars but a metal machine chased them away." said a out of breath Silver.

 

"Um hello? My name is Daybreak. Can I join this herd? I would like a foal please." said a voice. I whipped around and saw a small mare.

 

"Yes you can, and the next foal will be your foal." I answered.

 

"Okay" said Daybreak. After Daybreak walked away I thought about what Silver had said.

 

"Silver?" I said.

 

"Yes Fly?" replied Silver.

 

"Was there a two legged creature in the metal machine?" I asked.

 

"Yes" answered Silver.

 

"THE HUMANS ARE COMING!!!!!" I screamed while rearing. Suddenly a blue truck with a horse trailer can driving towards us. I reared.

 

 "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THE SCAR ON MY NECK IS FROM HUMENS!!!!!! ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T LET THEM CATCH YOU!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed. And the whole herd  ran towards the humans.
